Our Team

John Conway is a visual artist based in Rua Red South Dublin Arts Centre. His work is characterised by innovative multi-disciplinary projects and sophisticated solo and participatory artworks produced in response to sensitive, challenging, or novel contexts.

He is the Founder and Director of Other People’s Practices, the Artistic Director of Kildare Young Filmmakers, and a member of Arts and Health Coordinators Ireland. Since 2021, in collaboration with Artist Fiona Whelan, John has been developing a national socially engaged art project and memorial for women and families impacted by the failure of the HSE’s CervicalCheck Programme.

Rebecca has worked on projects with Waterford’s Theatre Royal, Kilkenny Arts Festival, The Heritage Council, Visual Carlow, National Opera House, and from 2014 – 2019 prior to joining Butler Gallery, was a Senior Manager with Focus Ireland, Ireland’s leading Homeless Charity. Rebecca has strong CSR and Corporate expertise with a MA in Arts & Heritage Management from Waterford Institute of Technology and a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) focused on Marketing & Strategic Management from Dublin Institute of Technology and Trinity College.

Pippa is a proud Waterford native and has been involved in the Walls Project since its inception. With a background in communications, Pippa provides support and guidance to help drive the profile of the organisation. She is passionate about the positive impact and potential of street art, culture and education within the community of Waterford and beyond.

Rebecca has twenty years’ experience working across the SME, Multinational and Not-for-Profit sectors and is skilled in strategic management, project management, team management, fundraising, marketing, communications and development roles in the arts, heritage and charity sectors.

A founder member of Waterford Spraoi, currently working as Programme Director, on a freelance basis, with the award winning arts organisation. Also works as a freelance programmer and festival manager with several organisations, including The Cat Laughs Festival, Kilkenomics, and Subtitle Film Festivals. Previously contracted to programme and manage cultural projects by Waterford City and County Council, Cork City Council, St Patricks Festival Dublin, and the Dublin Docklands Authority. Began a career in arts working for Red Kettle Theatre Company, Waterford from its foundation in 1988, to 1993.

Extensive experience in project management, consultancy, programming and managing in the arts, specialising in street arts and outdoor spectacle, but also including theatre, festivals and events.

Also undertakes strategic planning and consultancy work; clients have included Waterford City and County Council, the Irish Aerial Creation Centre and Fidget Feet Aerial Dance Company. Served as a member of the Board of the Arts Council of Ireland from 2014-2019.

Currently Chair of ISACS, the Irish Street Arts and Circus Network and also a Board Member of The Walls Project.

Frank is a Waterford native and works as a solicitor. His favourite part of the job is collaborating with and meeting new people. He served as President of Waterford Law Society from 2018 to 2021. He danced the foxtrot to win Strictly Deise Dancing in 2015. He has a strong interest in and enthusiasm for supporting local arts and culture, and loves exploring the great outdoors.

Joan has worked as an Arts Manager and Producer for over 30 years in the US, UK and Ireland. Her work has included both professional and community projects across many disciplines including photography, film, visual art, theatre, music, literature and architecture for organisations including Palace Pictures, Enigma Productions, Red Kettle Theatre Company, Christ Church Cathedral, Waterford Festival of Architecture, Theatre Royal Productions and Waterford Healing Arts. Joan is passionate about the power of art to transform communities.
